Since I’m procrastinating from studying for an exam tomorrow (which I haven’t really started to study for - whoops), I’ll do a quick race recap. Actually, since I’m feeling epically lazy, I’ll copy and paste the one I sent to my fam.
I had to wake up at 3:00 AM to get ready and get on the bus for 3:20, so that wasn’t the most fun ever. What happened after that was basically a bunch of waiting around until we were in our corrals around 5:00 AM, then there were hosts trying to entertain us with cheesiness; they were decent. Lots of really cool costumes, and tons and tons of people.
The wheelchair athletes got a ten-minute head start, so they were sent off with fireworks and some “magical” words from the fairy godmother, then it was Corral A’s turn. It was pretty cool, seeing that many people. Each corral got their own start from the fairy godmother, complete with a burst of fireworks. Very fun, for sure. I was in corral B, right at the front of the corral, so I didn’t have to weave through a sea of people. Except most people at the front of the corral were way faster than me, so I let them go ahead instead of burning myself out, because that would be extremely stupid.
There were so many fun things along the way, and I tried to take pictures but I got tired and lazy, so I didn’t get a lot of stuff. There were bands and choirs and lots of cool characters and things, and I was too type A to stop for pictures while I still felt energetic. I saved more pictures for when I was fatigued; it was a good excuse to take a 30-second rest. I’ll post pictures when I get home.
I was feeling great - strong and energetic - until about the halfway point, then miles 7-11 were half brutal. Partly because I was tired and partly because they had very little entertainment along those miles. I found that kind of dumb, seeing as how that’s the hardest leg of the thing. I wasn’t physically hurting at all during the race, which was awesome, but I did feel a bit dehydrated and just generally fatigued. Volunteers at the water stations were my saviours.
I walked a tiny bit, but only for less than 10 minutes total, I’d say, broken up throughout the race. I ended up finishing in 2:18:50, which I was happy with. Originally I’d been going for 2:15, but I’m definitely happy with my time.
Running through both Epcot and Magic Kingdom was really amazing, especially with so many volunteers and spectators cheering you on. I got teary at several points. Not because I was hurting at all, but because, not unlike Kristen Bell (look at her interview on Ellen - it’s the cutest), I get teary when I’m excited.
Anyway, the race was just really wonderful and worth every penny. I’d love to do another Disney race when I can. Afterward I took a nap in my hotel and then spent the day with Meri and her two friends, Brooke and Victoria, at Epcot. It was so much fun! Epcot is pretty awesome. We went into Epcot Canada and I made fun of it a lot, and it was great.
Here are some pics!
At Epcot after the race!

Crossed the finish line! So excited!

Obviously not sweaty or red at all…
